It's official: Australia has spoken and the offical time for Beer O'Clock is 5pm. That's what nearly 10,000 voters think, after T20's Thirsty Camel bottleshops nationwide survey. To celebrate this, Thirsty Camel hosted a VIP rooftop party at Austereo in South Melbourne on hump day - Wednesday the 13th of November.
Beer O'Clock ambassador and gala host Mick Molloy made the official announcement, joking that Beer O'Clock really should be 9.30am when he finishes his breakfast radio slot! Legendary band the Screaming Jets also made an exclusive appearance singing their greatest hits.
Running across four weeks, T20 and Thirsty Camel launched this campaign which encouraged all Australians to vote on their perfect timing for Beer O'Clock, whether they drank beer, wine, champagne... or water, the really hard stuff!
"We enjoyed the irreverence of the campaign, as it's a perfect fit for our brand", said Thirsty Camel's Marketing Director, Leah Grinter.
All votes went into the draw to win a share of a $40,000 prize pool.
Southern Cross Austereo was the campaign's major media partner.
